The Monetary Authority of Singapore has announced that it will stop printing 1,000 dollars banknotes (SGD1,000.1) effective 1 January 2021.
The notes continue to be legal tender, and banks may re-circulate them.
The measure has been taken to prevent the use of large denomination banknotes for illegal purposes.
