The Central Bank of Samoa presented this week its new polymer banknotes of 5 tala (WST5.4), 10 tala (WST10.5) and 20 tala (WST20.4), which will replace the paper ones.

Those of 5 tala will be issued next Monday 18 December 2023, while the ones of 10 and 20 tala will be released early next year.

The new notes have embossed points designs to help people with vision impairment.

They are printed by De La Rue on SAFEGUARD® substrate.

These notes will co-circulate with the current paper ones.
