The Russian Orthodox Church has objected to the fact that the building that now is the Museum of the History of Statehood of the Tatar People (the shortest at left) which used to be the Palace Church of the Kazan Kremlin during the Czarist times) does not show a cross at top, while the minaret at its right does have a crescent. The building had the cross removed, and the building housed several different uses over the years before it became a Museum.
