The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has introduced of 2 March its new family of improved ZiG banknotes.

The denominations of 10 ZiG (ZWG10.2,) 20 ZiG (ZWG20.2) and 50 ZiG (ZWG50.2) will enter circulation on 7 April 2026.

Those of 100 ZiG (ZWG100.2) and 200 ZiG (ZWG200.2) are due at a later date.

The denominations of 1; 2; 5; 50; 100 and 200 ZiG of the first series of 2024 were never issued. There were complaints about the poor quality of these notes, so only those of 10 and 20 ZiG were released.
