Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas issued a statement to indicate that the errors found in the version of the new banknote of 1,000 piso (PHP1,000.3) presented last week have been corrected. The notes to be printed show the correct scientific name of the Philippine eagle “Pithecophaga jefferyi” and not ‘Pithecophega Jefforyi”.
These errors were pointed out by Representative Carlos Zarate in a Twitter posting.
