James Marape, Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister, announced today that the Cabinet has approved the issue of a polymer 100 kina banknote (PGK100.5) commemorative of the death of Sir Julius Chan, a Founding Father of the Nation, who died on January this year.

The new banknote will be issued in the following months as part of the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of Independence.
