Jameel Ahmed, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, declared yesterday after a meeting with the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue, that polymer is being evaluated as the substrate for the new banknotes to be issued next year.

The State Bank will finalize the prerequisites of introducing the new notes by December.
