Ulster Bank will issue on July 20 its new 20 pounds banknote (NIR-UB20.3) printed on polymer. As with the other new notes of the same value from Great Britain, these will be of a smaller size, and have advanced security devices to prevent counterfeiting.
Current paper notes will continue to be used for some time, and eventually retired.
