First Trust Bank has taken the “commercial decision” to stop issuing its own notes, as other Northern Irish banks do.
Its current notes will continue too be legal tender until June 30, 2022, and there will be “special arrangements” to redeem them for another two years.
The bank’s ATMs will be switched over to issue Bank of England notes.
