Rogélio Lucas Zandamela, Governor of Banco de Moçambique, announced today 15 June 2024, that tomorrow it will release to circulation the 2024 Family of Notes.

The notes of 20 (MZN20.3), 50 (MZN50.3) and 100 meticais (MZN100.3) are printed on polymer substrate. Cotton paper is used on those of 200 (MZN200.3), 500 (MZN500.3) and 1,000 meticais (MZN1,000.2).

These notes have advanced technology security devices and are easy to distinguish by people with reduced and have tactile marks for the blind.
