In recent days a purported design of a 2,000 pesos (MXN2,000.1) has being circulated in social media.
When the new family of notes was announced a couple of years ago the denomination of 2,000 pesos was programmed to be issued at a later date, if circumstances required it.
The design circulating in social media seems to be a composite image, using a modified note of 1,000 pesos (MXN1,000.3). It should be noted that the blind friendly horizontal marks at the left of front are exactly the same as in current 1,000 pesos notes. Also notice that the word “MIL” in “DOS MIL PESOS” is not capitalized.
