Banco de México has instructed commercial banks not to reissue banknotes of the types dated between 1992 and 2008. These continue to be legal tender, but it is to be expected that it may be hard to spend them because the public is no longer used to see them, and assumes that they are no longer valid.
The banknotes included in the recall are:
