Bank of Mauritius has announced today the release to circulation of a new banknote of 100 rupees (MUR100.4) printed on polymer substrate.
The new note is similar to the current paper one, except for a window at the right of the front, and additional security features.
It will circulate along with the paper notes of the same denomination, which continue to be legal tender.
The Bank also informed that a new polymer banknote of 200 rupees (MUR200.5) will be issued later this year.
