According to unconfirmed reports the Central Bank of Libya announced today the withdrawal from circulation of both varieties of 50 dinar banknotes. These can be exchanged until the end of August.
In recent weeks it has been reported that besides the two current varieties, the ones printed in the United Kingdom, with ascending serial numbers, and those produced by Goznak in the Russian Federation, with even serial numbers; notes of a third variety of unknown origin, supposedly coming from the East, were found in circulation.
