The Bank of the Lao P.D.R. announced yesterday that it has issued in early October two new banknotes of 10,000 kip (LAK10,000.2) and 20,000 kip (LAK20,000.2).

Both are dated 2020 and are slightly larger that the previous ones. Following current tendencies both are of the same height, but their lengths differ. This reduces wear and tear on the higher denomination notes.

Their descriptions are: 

10,000 kip  153 x 72mm  Issued in Oct. 2022   (LAK10,000.2)      2020  Violet blue and yellow / Violet blue and olive green.    Pres. Kaysonne Phomvihane and temple / Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge.

20,000 kip  156 x 72mm  Issued in Oct. 2022  (LAK20,000.2)      2020  Violet blue and multicolor / Red and green.   Pres. Kaysonne Phomvihane and temple / Theun Hinboun Hydroelectric plant.
