An article in Times of Central Asia with a byline by Sergey Kwan published today informs that the Bishkek based Company Uchkun is printing Kyrgyz banknotes for the National Bank.
Previously these banknotes were produced by European fiscal printers.
Melis Turgunbayev, Chairman of the National Bank, announced that production has started with smaller denominations, and that the new banknotes adhere to the highest international standard for counterfeit protection.
