Kubanychbek Kulmatov, president of Kyrgyz Bank declared that a new banknote of 2,000 som (KGS2,000.1) may soon be issued. “While everything is classified … this information will be available in the very near future”.

The new banknote will probable commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Independence, and be of limited issue.
