The Swiss National bank has chosen the “J” concept designs presented by Emphase for its new family of banknotes to be issued in the 2030’s.

As with previous Swiss banknotes these will be virtually forgery-proof.

Their motifs will be the flora, fauna and fossils found in Switzerland at the lowlands, the Central Plateau, the Jura, Pre-Alps, and high mountains in the front, and architecture, infrastructure and native insects in the back.

Emphase has asked the paleontologist Ursula Menkveld-Gfeller from the Natural History Museum in Bern to provide the images of fossils, which will be used as watermarks.
