According to reports in the Indian press the release of new banknotes of 100 rupees (INR100.3) is due next month.

It has been reported that the new banknote will be violet and of a smaller size. It will show the Rani Ki Vav , one of the most splendid stepwells located in Gujarat. The new note will co-circulate with the current ones of the same value.
