The Magyar Nemzeti Bank has announced today that it will issue an improved note of 1,000 forint (HUF1,000.5) in March 2018. Current notes of 1,000 forint (HUF1,000.4) will be legal tender until November 1, 2018, and remain redeemable for 20 years afterward.
