The result of the public poll conducted last year by the Treasury is that the public prefers to have flora and fauna motifs in the new banknotes with the image of King Charles III.  It was also found that the majority wanted to have different motifs in each denomination.

It is estimated that the new banknotes will be available toward the end on the year.

The same poll found that the public prefers to remove the 1 and 2 pence coins from circulation.
