Bank of England issues today the new polymer banknote of 50 pounds. The note will be distributed to the public in the next weeks.

It also announced that the paper banknotes of 20 pounds (GBP20.4) and 50 pounds (GBP50.3) will cease to be legal tender as of 30 September 2022. After that date these notes remain redeemable without time limit. Most British banks will accept them for deposit.
