The new polymer 10 pound notes will be issued this week on Thursday the 14th. Existing “Charles Darwin” notes will remain legal tender until 30 June 2018, and be redeemable afterward  “in eternity” at the Bank of England. Commercial banks usually accept these and other withdrawn notes for deposit to existing accounts.
