According to news published today 16 June 2021 by Granma an Executive Order of the Council of State decided to extend the term to redeem notes expressed in pesos convertibles until the end of the year. Individuals may present them for redemption at the designated banking offices.

The Central Bank also modified some rules related to bank accounts denominated in U.S. dollars.

Notes expressed in pesos convertibles may not be used in commerce.
