All banknotes of 10; 20; 50 and 100 konvertibilnih maraka issued between 1998 and 2009 will cease to be legal tender as of 31 December 2024.
During 2025 these may be redeemed at any commercial bank. From 2026 to the end of 2035 these notes may only be exchanged at the Central Bank.
The only notes that will be current after the end of 2024 are those with the vertical holographic band with “dancing balls.”
The Bank’s communique does not mention the banknotes of 200 konvertibilnih maraka (BAM200.1) issued since 2002.
