The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago has announced two days ago that it will issue in August new banknotes of 100 dollars of the 2026 Series (TTD100.6) with the modified Trinidadian Coat of Arms which shows the “steelpan” instead of the old one with the Three Carvels.
The other denominations with the new coat of arms will be released on a phased basis, and all polymer notes of the Series 2019 with the old coat of arms will remain their legal tender until 2 January 2031, subject to possible extensions as needed.
The Series 2026 banknotes will include several enhanced security features, such as an enlarged transparent window incorporating the Bird of Paradise.
