Banco Central de la República Argentina announced that new banknotes of 10,000 pesos (ARS10,000.1) and 20,000 pesos (ARS20,000.1) will be placed in circulation in June.

For the note of 10,000 pesos the original design of the 500 pesos from the Series “Motherland heros and heroines” showing Manuel Belgrano and María Remedios del Valle in the front is being used, with the “Swearing of the flag” in the back.

The one of 20,000 pesos shows Juan Bautista Alberdi in the front, and his natal home in the back. Alberdi was a lawyer and statesman instrumental in the creation of the Constitution of 1853.

The notes of 20,000 pesos will be printed by the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre in Madrid. There is no information yet on where the ones of 10,000 pesos will be produced.

Both are to be produced on cotton paper substrate, and will maintain the size of the previous notes.
