Alejandro Vanoli, former president of the Banco Central de la República Argentina, made public in 2016 the design of banknotes never printed of 200 and 500 pesos, with the portraits of former presidents Hipólito Yrigoyen and Juan D. Perón.
The new government which succeeded Cristina Fernández de Kirchner decided to issue a new family of notes without political or historical figures, opting for local fauna instead, so these notes were never issued.
