Since July 2023 foreign non-resident visitors are required to declare on arrival or departure amounts over EUR5,000 or its equivalent in other currencies.

Algerian citizens, whether resident or not, as well as foreign Algerian residents, must declare amounts in excess of EUR1,000 or its equivalent in other currencies. The export of amounts over EUR7,500 is subject to additional requirements.

The import and export of local currency is limited to DZD10,000.
