The Banque d’Algérie has presented today its new banknotes of 500 (DZD500.3) and 1,000 dinars (DZD1,000.4), and the new coin of 100 dinars.
These are the characteristics of the new banknotes:
500 dinars (DZD500.3): Size: 150 x 71.7 mm. It shows the satellite AllcomSat1, the world globe and the map of Algeria. The wide holographic band show the portrait Berber King Amazigh Jughurta.
1,000 dinars (DZD1,000.4): Size: 160 x 71.7 mm. It shows the Great Mosque of Algiers. The wide holographic band show the portrait of Prince Abdul Qadir.
The new notes will be introduced to circulation in mid February. They will co-circulate with the current notes.
