Bank of Albania announced that the new banknote of 10,000 lëke (ALL10,000.1) will be released in the last quarter of 2020.

Its design has not yet been made public, but according to official information we know that it will show the portrait of Asdren, the National Poet; the flag and lines of the National anthem.

As for the other not yet issued denominations, the one of 2,000 lëke (ALL2,000.2) is expected in late 2021; and that of 500 lëke (ALL500.4) in 2022.

It has also been announced that all will have advanced security devices.
