Yorkshire Bank will begin rebranding in late 2019 and Clydesdale Bank will begin in the second half of 2020. Both banks’ rebranding will be finished by the end of 2021.
CYBG, the owner of Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, agreed to buy Virgin Money for £1.7 billion last year, and said at the time that a rebranding would take place.
CYBG chief executive David Duffy said: “The decision to retire brand names with such long and proud histories is not an easy one.
N.R. It can be expected that the name “Clydesdale Bank plc” will be replaced possibly by “Virgin Money” in their future banknotes.
