Behzod Khamroyev, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, declared on 1 February that there are no plans to re-denominate the currency, or to issue higher value banknotes.

Currently the largest note is the one of 100,000 som (UZS100,000.1) which is worth approximately 10 U.S. dollars.
