While the banknotes denominated in “nuevos soles” dated between 1991 and 2006 (PEN10.1/20.1/50.1/100.1/200.1) have legal tender status, some merchants will refuse them, especially outside Lima.
It is not advisable to sell these notes to travelers going to Peru
