Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, asked the public to “Think Science” when they nominate who they wish to have pictured on the new polymer banknote to be issued in a couple of years.

Stephen Hawking seems to be the candidate preferred by many, although there are many other British scientists that have made great contributions. Alan Turing was a computing genius who greatly contributed to winning World War II.
