SET Russia, 50;100 rubles, 1997 (2004), P-269c-270c, Ex-USSR, UNC

Bank Rossiya, the central Bank of Russia, has decided to apply a coat of varnish to the notes of 100 rubles (RUB100.2A). Later on the same procedure will be used on the banknotes of 50 rubles (RUB50.2A).

Vladimir Demidenko, Deputy Director of the Cash Department, declared that the savings due to the increase of longevitiy of the notes will exceed the cost of varnishing.
