The new banknotes of 200 (RUB200.1) and 2,000 (RUB2,000.1) are in relative short supply because they were issued in October in a limited release in the Far East of Russia. These are being sold at premiums over the face value, because they are hard to find outside that area.

Bank Russia has recommended not to pay any premium, because in December they will start massive distribution in all parts of the Russian Federation. They also stated that the notes are of regular issue, and not commemorative.
