The Banco Central de la República Argentina changed the dates for the redemption of the 2 pesos banknotes (ARS2.1 and ARS2,2) which were to become worthless at the end of April.

While they are still legal tender until the end of April, now these notes may be redeemed at any bank until the end of May. It is estimated that some 400 million pieces are still in circulation.

In practice these low value notes (=about USD 0.10) are difficult to spend, as many merchants refuse them.
