Several Bolivian newspapers published today the description of the motifs of the new banknotes to be issued in 2018, which they obtained by inspecting the printing bid specifications.

They are:

10 bolivianos (BOB10.2):   José Santos “El Tambor Vargas”, Apiaguaiki Tumpa, “El Moto” Méndez, Cavernas de Humajalanta / Isla del Pescado, Picaflor Gigante, Puya Raymondi. (214,000,000).

20 bolivianos (BOB20.2):   Tomás Katari, Genoveva Rios, Pedro Ignacio Mulba, Fuerte Samaipata / Laguna Bay, Caimán Negro, Árbol Toborochi. (161,000,000).

50 bolivianos (BOB50.2):   José Manuel Baca “El Cañoto”, Pablo Zarate (sic) Villca, Bruno Racua, Ruinas de Incallajta / Nevado Sajama, Flamenco Andino, Quinua real. (70,000,000).

100 bolivianos (BOB100.2):   Juana Azurduy, Anotnio José de Sucre, Alejo Calatayud, Casa de la Moneda (de Potosí) / Cataratas Arco Iris, Paraba Azul. (185,000,000).

200 bolivianos (BOB200.2):   Bartolina Sisa, Simón Bolívar, Tupac Katari, Casa de la Libertad / Tihuanaco, Gato Titi, Kantuta. (41,000,000).

The basic colors of the notes will remain unchanged. The bid was awarded to Oberthur Fiduciairie S.A.S. The numbers in parentheses indicate quantities to be printed. The first delivery of new notes will take place in June 2018, with succesive ones up to June 2019. The current notes will be gradually replaced.
